Diet to lose weight. What I eat in a day , Carb cycling. Low Carb Diet. Burn Fats Fast | Calories Deficit, High Protein, Weight Loss, Food for losing fat, healthy food. healthy way to lose weight Hey guys. This is my current diet plan. Just started this carb cycling diet for over a week and i've lost about a kg. I'm pretty sure loads of it is just water weight since I cut down my carbs. I am still full of energy so i figured it is doing pretty well! Please remember I am very petite and 5'1 so I don't need to take in lots of calories to maintain my weight. To maintain my weight, I only need around 1550-1600 cal per day so I brought it down to around 1250-1300 per day now if I don't exercise. I still have two normal higher carbs days. Everyone is different and our body burn at a different rate so you would have to trail and error and see what is the calories intake to maintain your weight. I also increase my cal intake on the days i exercise! Also another reason why I count calories is because I don't want to be too under calories because then my body will burn off some of the muscles that I've built. I try really hard to built my muscles so I am not going to starve to just to lose some weight because that is counter intuitive. I am only on a 200-300 cal deficit, and for 5 days a week. If I add up my calories for the whole week, I am only approx 13% under at MOST which is a very small number. When I do intense exercises, or any exercises, I increase my calories intake. I am in no way starving myself and I will never do that. I only want to lose a bit of fats and you have to be in cal deficit to lose some fats. Counting calories can be such a sensitive subject but that is the best way for me to lose some weight without losing muscle mass and doing it in the healthy way. Also, the reason why I decided to lose some weight is because I've gained quite a bit of fats around my waist line. I've talked about this in my previous video. I've started doing hiit exercises. I want to get really defined abs for my summer holiday so that's the reason why i'm cutting too. I've been bulking for the last couple of months and now it's time to lose some fats. I'm going to be on this diet for another week and see how it goes. I am not looking to be super skinny because that's what i'm not looking for. Also another thing that I didn't mentioned in this video is that I cut off all the fats from the chicken and also I only used heart smart minced beef, basically the minced beef has got barely any fats. I only take lean meats when i'm cutting. Chicken thighs, scotch fillet, t-bone, lamb are a lot higher in fats, so higher calories. Try to choose lean meat! Cauliflower or any veg is a great way to have carbs because it is so low in calories. Per 100g of cooked cauliflower gives you only 33 Calories. Most vegetables are really low in calories so try to eat more vege and less processed food. The whole day of food macro was: 1250 cal 132g Protein 94g Carbs 45g Fats Nice apps to track your macro are My Fitness Pal or Cronometer. I'll also add the measurement of my food shortly. Choose your foods wisely. 500 calories a day is not a lot, so you need to choose foods that are high in volume to fill your stomach, and high in nutrients to “biochemically fill you up”, so your body doesn’t rebel and spike cravings. We relied heavily on soups, salads and stir-fry for both volume and nutrients. 2. Eat two meals a day. Hunger is naturally stimulated when you eat, so we minimized how often we ate during the day. Also, eating only two meals meant we could eat more at meal time. 3. Have a plan. Prepare all of your foods the day before you begin, and have an exact plan of how and when to eat them. You do not want to be running to the grocery store or trying to figure out your next meal halfway through the week. 4. Prepare mentally. When you have everything in place, success is down to the mental game. Make sure you have a good reason to eat 500 calories a day, and know what you want, then stay focused and the results will be impressive. The way my diet is setup right now is: 3100 Calories per day for six training days throughout the week and 1000-1100 Calories for the rest day which is usually Sunday. This 1000 calories day is very exciting because I don't see a lot of people using this as a method to partition calories. In a nutshell, the goal of the 1000 calorie day is to be able to add more calories on those training days and in a way to stimulate a tiny bit more growth. For this 1000 calories, I'm utilizing something called Protein Sparing Modified Fast. PSMF is a method used for fat loss, and it was made famous by Lyle McDonald in his book The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook (http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/the-rapid-fat-loss-handbook) In the rapid fat loss book, Lyle uses this as a "smart" crash diet to get very fast results, and it can be utilized for a quick cut or as an intro to a more sustainable approach. However, using a Protein Sparing Modified Fast for lean gaining is theoretical, and there's no that much science behind it at this moment. Hopefully, in the future we'll have more research on maximizing muscle growth and minimizing fat gain on a "bulk": Having said that, doing intermittent fasting with a PSMF on a rest day is a nice experiment to try out and see how it works for you. Also, those extra calories on those training days help when you're training hard. And since you're doing 1000 calories just once a week it's not that hard. If I were in a caloric deficit, it would be a lot harder to eat only a 1000 calories. Full day of eating nutrition breakdown: Meal 1: Lettuce, raw, 200 g Fage Greek Yogurt - 0℅ Fat, 400 g Peppers red, raw, one medium 296 Calories / 29g Carbohydrate / 0g Fat / 45g Protein / 5g Fiber Meal 2: Lettuce, raw, 200 g Fage Greek Yogurt - 0℅ Fat, 400 g Peppers, red, raw, one medium Peppers, Yellow, raw, one large 346 Calories / 41g Carbohydrate / 0g Fat / 47g Protein / 7g Fiber Meal 3: Green - Apple, one fruit Frozen Veggie Mix 200 g Shrimp Grilled No Oil, 275g 423 Calories / 35g Carbohydrate / 3g Fat / 63g Protein / 8g Fiber Total for the day: 1065 Calories 105 grams of Carbohydrate 3 grams of Fat 155 grams of Protein Macros are simple, and it comes down to eating high protein with almost no fats and carbohydrates. From the research I've seen, there's minimal risk of losing muscle in the context of doing one day of the week at 1000 calories. Doing two days of 1000 calories in a row is fine as well (i.e. when traveling and you're not training for two days) but if it happens to be three days of no training, it's recommended to do higher calories (closer to maintenance) on the 3rd day. Tips to avoid feeling hungry on a 1000 Calories per day: 1 - High protein 2 - Add a lot of green vegetables to meals 3 - Stick to 2-3 meals per day with no snacking 4 - Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep 5 - Drink a bit more water. Zero calorie drinks are okay as well in moderation, and some say coffee and tea helps as well. Bonus tips: - Use Intermittent Fasting 16/8 where you would consume those 2-3 meals within an 8-hour eating window. - Keep the meals bland, and focus on very simple, single ingredient foods to trigger sensory specific satiety. Find Your Body Type: http://bit.ly/BodyTypeQuiz Calorie is a unit of energy in food. Each type of food (carbohydrates, proteins and fats) has its own unit of energy. Protein contains 4 calories per gram Carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram Fat contains 9 calories per gram You can see that fat contains more than double the calories per weight. Yes, the assumption is that consuming fat, which contains more calories will cause more weight gain. But what is rarely factored into this equation is: The HORMONE piece of the puzzle. Remember there are 6 fat burning hormones and 3 fat-storing hormones and each set is influenced by different foods. Insulin is the most powerful "fat-making hormone". It will convert food into fat easily. It is triggered by: *Sugar Carbohydrates (including grain carbs, fruit juice and starch carbs (potato, rice and corn). *Excess protein. Interestingly, fats are neutral and are not triggered by any of the fat-storing hormones. Growth Hormone (GH) is the most powerful "fat-burning hormone". It will trigger the fat-burning process. It is triggered by: *Protein (small amounts) WHY? To understand this more, we need to look at the purpose of these 3 types of foods. Protein: needed to repair and replace many body structures (muscles, tendons, collagen, hair, nails, hormones, etc.). We constantly need protein to replace the body tissue. So our body needs a certain amount of protein, and this is why only excess protein is converted to fat. We recommend 3-4 ounces. Fat: needed to repair and replace many body structures (the outer walls of all cells, mini-structures inside our cells, our entire nervous system, our entire skin, our brain and our hormones). Interestingly, there is a diet called the Ketosis Diet in which the person lives exclusively on fats and oils. I SIDE NOTE: You may then ask yourself, why then don't we apply this diet for people? Because long term, it can cause problems. All the fat coming off the body can clog the liver and create a fatty liver. *Sugar Carbs (including grains, starches and sweet fruits). *Vegetable Carbs (vegetables which do not turn into sugars easily).
