Also, drinking more water helps your body stop retaining water, leading you to drop those extra pounds of water weight. Water aids digestion and promotes the normal functioning of many body organs including the liver. Lack of regular intake of water will slow digestion, decrease fat metabolism and give you the feeling that you are bloated and tired. Drinking sufficient quantity of water increases the rate at which our liver burns off fat. If you drink inadequate quantities of water, your liver ends up working exhaustively thus storing more fat as it becomes difficult to burn fat more effectively. If you want to lose weight, you should drink a minimum of eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. However, to really get the process moving, drink half your body weight in ounces each day. So, if you weigh 180 pounds, you should drink about 90 ounces of water a day -- roughly 11 glasses of water. Drinking ice cold water helps boost your metabolism because your body has to work harder to warm the water up, therefore burning more calories and helping you to lose weight. Plus, ice cold water is just so much more refreshing than water that’s room temperature. Replace sweetened drinks with water. Instead of drinking soda, alcoholic beverages, smoothies, or other high-calorie drinks, grab a glass or bottle of water. Swapping in a zero-calorie beverage for high-calorie alternatives can spare you hundreds of calories per day, further aiding in weight loss. Drink water before you eat drinking water before meals can make you feel fuller and therefore reduce your food intake as it acts like an appetite suppressant. Health resource website WebMD states that drinking water before meals results in an average reduction in intake of 75 calories per meal. Drinking water before just one meal per day would cause you to ingest 27,000 fewer calories per year. Do the math: You'd lose about eight pounds per year just from drinking water! First 12 hours was good as i wake up i was not hungry i drink a glass of water then i started my day till 18 hours i was all fit but after 20 hours i was bit sleepy and got 2 hours sleep. That was game changer my body restart with the boost of energy wich i think that came from fat as when i went to sleep it switch to body fat so i was not hungry for dinner i went for a short spin around local shop walking but didn't fell that i have not eaten for 23 hours then at 2 o'clock at night i went back to sleep. Next morning my challenge was completed and yes i drink that date milk i brought from store sorry couldn't add into the video but it tasted good . Also i didn't expected to lose this amount of weight 3.55 kg equal to 6 pounds but i did and it was awesome i can't say that u can lose same amount of weight but i hope u lose more weight than i did. Note. If u try this at home please make sure the next day is off so if u fell tired u can rest while it was not hard for me but i cant say about u this was my experience hope i enjoy it if u did hit the like button and subscribe to my channel thank you

Unlike intermittent fasting this will typically involve not eating for a couple days. And most people immediately dismiss this as a viable option for Fat Loss and weight loss because there are so many myths surrounding this topic. People are worried about losing their muscle mass, they're worried about slowing down their metabolism, and they're worried about their health and well-being in general. So in today's video I want to go over exactly what will happen to your body if you don't eat anything for 7 days straight. If you're looking to burn some fat lose some weight or if you're just looking to try an extended fast I highly recommend you stay with me through this video because I can tell you exactly what to expect and help settle the myths and doubts in your mind about a longer-term fast. First off let me start by saying that you shouldn't just jump into a 7 day long fast without first getting used to shorter fasting intervals like intermittent fasting, the warrior diet, and the one meal a day diet. I recommend you first try to fast for only two days however, even if you did do a 7 day fast contrary to what a lot of you may think you're not going to just drop dead. Your body is very good at conserving energy when it doesn't have access to food. This is how Ghandi at 74 years old was able to go on a 21 day hunger strike and not starve to death. When you fast for an extended duration your body will mostly use stored body fat for energy. And even though Ghandi was already pretty lean before his fast he was able to complete all 21 days. For most of us we consider a normal diet as one in which we eat every couple hours. However, before the invention of things like farming and refrigeration our distant ancestors would experience long periods of fasting followed by periods of feeding when food became available. So most people are actually very capable of fasting for 5 to ten days without much of a problem even though a lot of people think they'll practically die from starvation just by just skipping a meal or two. Just to drive this point home even further there was study conducted by researchers from a University in Scotland that was published in 1973. In this study an extremely obese 27 year old man fasted for 382 days. And believe it or not he didn't drop dead. He actually went from weighing 456 pounds............ to 180 pounds. Such a long fast could obviously only be achieved under the supervision of doctors with the use of vitamin supplements like yeast, sodium, and potassium, but the amazing thing is that the researchers followed this man for 5 years after his fast ended and he managed to maintain his weight.... never crossing back above 200 pounds again. Studies like this completely disprove the myth that your metabolism will shutdown and won't ever function normally again just because you don't eat every couple hours or every couple days for that matter. A 7 day fast is definitely something that you can work up to overtime, so what should you expect to happen to your body over the course of one week of fasting. Well about 6 hours after your start the fast your body will completely finish digesting food and breaking down glycogen into glucose. That glucose is primarily used by your body for energy and even though it can last for up to 24 to 72 hours it will typically be depleted after just 6 hours. So for most people that's when you can expect sudden hunger pangs and food cravings to start kicking in. Also in this initial phase your mood will change because your body is still used to getting it's energy from glucose, so you can expect to be a little "hangry" in the beginning. These intense hunger pangs that can also come with the feeling of dizziness, weakness, and nausea, diminish after the first 2 days for women and can take 3 days for men. If you can overcome these first 3 days the hunger will dramatically decrease and your body will start to feel more energized. During these first 3 days you can expect to gradually burn off the glycogen reserves in your muscles and your liver. This will cause you to lose a good amount of water weight in the beginning because the carbohydrates that you would normally be eating retain water in the body. Also you will begin to switch over to using fat for energy.

I did it to heal my body. What did you weigh when you started your fast? 97 lbs. How much weight did you lose? I lost a total of 15 lbs. Did you gain back the weight you lost? Yes, within about 6 months I gained back all the weight I lost during my fast. However, I still really wanted to attend Dr. Graham's lecture that day, so I was carried into the lecture room where I was able to lie down and still listen. What kind of skin problems did you have? I had major acne issues as well as hives What were you allergic/sensitive to? All acid fruits, some sub-acid fruits and most greens including celery, lettuce and fresh herbs You only drank water, no food at all for 13 days? That is correct Did you exercise during your fast? No, exercise should be avoided during a water fast. Your body needs all of it's usable energy for healing which is why you don't eat food. Digestion takes a lot of energy and by not eating, your body can use that valuable energy to heal all areas of the body that need healing. It is best to rest as much as physically possible during your fast. Sleeping a lot is good. How much water did you drink? Enough water that I was peeing clear 8-12 times per day I want to fast now. I haven’t completed a fast passed 48 hours before, and this was my first time fasting since starting the keto diet. I enjoyed my fast and found that it is mostly mental, because I rarely found myself hungry and when I did I was able to go on with my day. I will be doing another video following up on my fast and going over if the result I had are permanent or not. We eat three meals a day because… well because everyone else does. And because that’s how we were raised. And because most of us are conditioned in such a way that we get hungry if we don’t eat for 4-6 hours. But there’s no fixed biological rule saying that we need to eat every 4-6 hours. Homo Sapiens popped up 250,000 years ago but we only developed agriculture 12,000 years ago. There were 238,000 years where we were getting by as hunter-gatherers with unreliable access to food. We might kill a gazelle one day, share it with our tribe, then go two days without access to meat and have little to subsist on. And this was perfectly fine. We certainly weren’t stopping in the middle of our 16-19 mile a day walks to have a protein bar to refuel. Many foods in our modern diet (grains and sugars), combined with eating constantly, has made our bodies lazy and turned off their ability to run on their own energy stores. Fasting forces your body to get back into a more “state of nature” style of operating and brings a host of benefits with it. The Health Benefits of Fasting Central to the benefits of fasting is a process called “autophagy.” Autophagy is the body’s natural process of killing off, eating up, or cleaning out bad cell matter that’s built up in your body. It’s an important system for staving off many diseases, including preventing cancer development. Not only that, but reduced autophagy (the state that most of our diets leaves us in) leads to accelerated cell aging, which explains why in numerous studies on lab animals from single cells to mice to monkeys, restricting their caloric intake significantly increased their lifespan, even when that restriction was occasional (fasting every once in a while). It doesn’t stop there. Autophagy also helps with the development and retention of lean muscle, and autophagy induced through caloric restriction also slows neurodegeneration and is one of the few things that can lead to the production of new brain cells. This research suggests that fasting can protect you against neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimers and Parkinsons. This is also likely why epileptic and autistic people respond very well to fasting. Also, periodic fasting helps with reducing chronic pains, rheumatic diseases, high blood pressure, and anything related to inflammation. Fasting also improves your insulin sensitivity, meaning your body can better process Oreos instead of sending them to your waistline when you decide to cheat. Then there’s the obvious fat loss benefit. After day two (maybe earlier) your body has nothing to run on but your own fat. The water weight you lose will come back quickly, but that fat loss is real. You can expect to lose ~1-2 pounds per day, but consider this a nice benefit, not the primary motivation. If you’re doing it for fat loss you might do it too long or ignore signs to stop. How to Fast Safely Heads up! We’re getting into prescriptive territory where I talk about how you can try fasting. I’m not a doctor, veterinarian, spiritual healer, or anything else that would remotely qualify me to give you medical advice, so if you try this and you die it’s your own damn fault. And PLEASE don’t be stupid and do something like donate blood, go in a sauna, run a marathon, or anything else that will put undue stress on you if you fast. The fasting community is a little confusing. Some people say “drink only distilled water while fasting” some people say “be sure you take a lot of electrolytes.” Some say “Make sure you take a vitamin supplement” some say “avoid vitamins.” What I’ve learned from doing experiments like this is that when you get into newer areas of research (like fasting), 99% of the information online is contradictory nonsense and you have to figure it out on your own. You should do your research too, not just trust me or another blog. You can die from fasting, usually from drinking too much water, flushing all the salt out of your body, and going into cardiac arrest. That’s why you only drink distilled water. Or is it why you don’t drink distilled water? No one agrees really, so I drank a lot of Brita-filtered water and didn’t worry about it. Some people said you should only have 1-2L of water a day, some said just keep it under a gallon, some said to drink a ton to flush the toxins out. I just drank when I was thirsty. Some said you need to stay as inactive as possible. They talked about staying in bed for most of days 2 and 3, not walking more than a half mile, and keeping their activity low even during the refeeding period.

Let’s find out what drinking simple water as you eat can actually do to you. Some people think that drinking water while eating decreases the acidity in the stomach. So if gastric acid gets diluted, it won't be able to digest your food thoroughly enough. The digestive process starts before you even put the fork in your mouth. When we’re just thinking about our future meal, saliva starts getting secreted in the mouth. In fact, water doesn’t just enter the stomach from a glass, it’s also in the food you eat. For example, oranges, along with raspberries and pineapples, are 87% water. Research showed that some foods can, in fact, decrease acidity levels in the stomach, but they go back to normal really quickly. There are lots of advantages to drinking while eating. It helps soften and break down solid food so that your body can absorb the nutrients better. Water also prevents constipation since it softens the stool. It’s been proven that drinking just 2 cups of water raises both male and female metabolic rates by 30%. And when your metabolism is increased, this gives you a much-needed boost in energy. Water helps with the absorption of nutrients. It dissolves minerals and vitamins, along with other nutrients you get from your food. Water is vital for flushing toxins out of your body through your urine and stool. Even if you drink half a gallon of water, it won't change the acidity. -Liquid leaves the body faster than solid food, but it doesn't influence the speed of digestion. -Having something to drink with your meals is harmless and can even do you some good. -Water helps regulate your body temperature, lubricates your spinal cord, tissues, and joints.
