My name is Yousef Saleh Erakat. In 2011 I started my career as a YouTuber. Over the years, I have garnered billions of views, over 15 Million total YouTube subscribers, starred in multiple Hollywood movies such as Tyler Perrys BOO! A Madea Halloween 1 and 2, been a part of world tours such as Roman VS Fousey, been a guest on Ellen, Steve Harvey, Doctor OZ, bought my family a house, bought myself a Ferrari, and have just now, at the age of 28 began to live in my purpose and true calling. On July 15th, I held an event called Hate Dies Love Arrives at The Greek Theater. From conception to action, it was done in 7 days using nothing more than social media, my cell phone and the power of a dream. The event was stopped before it had a chance to start, but before it was cut short, there were 60,000 Live Viewers, 5,800 tickets sold, and had a line-up of top musical talents ready to grace the stage. Fortunately, through it’s stoppage, I have now been blessed with seeing the “bigger picture.” I no longer have a cell phone, no longer have access to my social media, and no longer live in the past or the future. I only live in the now. I spent 28 years of my life lost. Successful, but lost. And now I am found. But after just a couple days, you’re back to binge eating chips and watching hours of Netflix. What is happening? Why is it so difficult and what does the science say about motivation? Today, we’re going to be answering these questions and uncovering the real solutions to how to stay motivated to lose weight, backed by scientific solutions. Point #1. Motivation is fleeting and losing weight takes time The main problem people face when wondering how to stay motivated to lose weight is that motivation wears off and temptation will always exist. My boy Zig Ziglar has a good quote about the solution to this: “People often say motivation doesn’t last, well neither does bathing. That’s why we recommend it daily.” The secret here is to use our incredible 21st century technology to keep reinvigorating yourself with more motivation. The easy ways to do this are: • Listen to daily podcasts on being healthy • Read books our use audible.com to listen to health and fitness audiobooks • Or even attend conferences and events held on health and fitness All of these things will help re-inspire you and keep you motivated Point #2. Everyone has limited amounts of willpower Have you ever noticed it’s easier to make tough decisions in the morning but harder to make them evening? This is because your willpower, similar to a muscle, is a limited resource. After a long day of hard decision making, a psychological syndrome called decision fatigue sets in and makes it more difficult to say no to that pizza The solution here is to use habits instead of relying on willpower. Habits, since not consciously made, don’t dip into those willpower reserves and are decisions made on autopilot. Simple habits like drinking a large glass of water right when you wake up or not eating after 7pm are easy to establish and will help you when your motivation and willpower fades. Point #3. Progress can be deceiving The mirror plays games when It comes to losing weight and getting in shape. Many dieters have experienced the situation where they are losing weight and feeling better, but are seeing no physical results in the mirror. This can be crazy frustrating. The solution is that measurements don’t lie. It may not sound sexy, but diligent tracking progress is crucial for success • Yes, take photos, but also make sure to • Weigh yourself • Take measurements • Take videos • And keep studious track of these records. Progress = motivation and this will keep you from getting discouraged by the mirror. Point #4. Being healthy doesn’t have to suck When most people think about getting health and fit they envision eating dry chicken breast, bland broccoli, and running for hours on the treadmill. It doesn’t have to be like that, nor should it. Find something you love, especially when it comes to exercise • Yoga • Pilates • Boxing • Crossfit • Booty Bootcamp • Biking • Running • Hiking • Weight Lifting • Prancercising • Kayaking The are A TON of options With all those options out there, you have no excuse not to find something you love and can stick with. Remember a perfect workout routine you hate is going to be less effective than finding a type of exercise you love and can stick with. Point #5. Design small rewards for sticking to the plan All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We humans may think we are complex and gifted beings, however, we are still simple animals. Basic reward systems in almost all major weight loss studies work on us just like our furry brethren. As talked about in our previous video on New Year Resolutions, reward systems work. Having a cheat meal once a week or even a reward day every few weeks on a diet can provide a lot of psychological relief and something to look forward to on those more temptation filled days. So in summary the solutions for how to stay motivated to lose weight are: #1. Find a daily source of motivation #2. Focus on establishing 1-2 core habits you can stick with #3. Track your progress diligently #4. Find a type of exercise and diet plan you ENJOY #5. Hello guys. I decided to make another one of these Kpop weightloss motivation videos since so many people like it (although I was always planning on making more of them.) Like I said in the description of the previous one that I did, I know that some of these idols achieve their bodies by doing unhealthy diets and starving themselves I am not in no way endorsing for you to follow those diets. So what’s the solution when you have absolutely no motivation for weight loss? Here are a few tips to use for when you find yourself being low on motivation. 1. Find your inspiration. What will inspire you to stick to the changes that you have to make to lose the weight that you want to lose? Is it to feel better physically and/or about yourself? Is it to win the heart of someone you love? Is it to help prevent serious illness like heart disease, diabetes, or stroke? Is it to wear nicer clothes? Find your inspiration! 2. Make a plan. You are more likely to stick to your weight loss goals if you have a plan to stick to. Trying to lose weight without a plan is like trying to drive to a place you've never been without a map, GPS or any direction whatsoever. You need a plan! 3. Set realistic and attainable goals. Focus on short term goals rather than long term goals. If you want to lose 150 pounds you will be overwhelmed and likely discouraged if that's what you are always focusing on. However, if you focus on losing 4 to 5 pounds a month you will remain motivated because this is much more realistic and attainable. 4. Hire a personal trainer. If your budget allows, hire a personal trainer. A personal trainer will not only guide your work out sessions but he/she will be able to keep you on track and motivated. 5. Challenge yourself. A little competition can be good for you! Join a Spark Challenge for that extra push you need to meet your goals, as well as the support from others who are going after the same goal. 6. Reward yourself .Take a look at your small goals and each time you reach one of those goals, reward yourself. Don’t necessarily do this with food, but rather something fun. Go to the movies or a night out with your friends. Give yourself a present and buy something new. It can be clothes, shoes, a CD or DVD you've been wanting, or something for your desk or anything that you want. Celebrate in your success. 7. Exercise should not be a chore and painful. Find a fun exercise activity that you can stick to. Try dancing, spinning or just simply hiking outdoors. Listen to fast-paced music that will keep you moving while working out. Find an exercise buddy. Studies show that if you work out with somebody, you are more likely to stick to an exercise program. 8. Vary your workout. Do not stick to the same gym workout to lose weight. Treat yourself with a variety of workouts like aerobics, gym, walking, jogging, running, and more. A variety of exercises retain your interest and motivation till the end of weight loss program, and further, you work out with excitement and pleasure. 9. Eat healthy the healthier your diet, the more energy you’ll have and the more motivated you’ll be. This includes getting enough food, because food fuels workouts! 10. Stop Weighing Yourself Daily. The daily fluctuations will mess with your motivation, weigh yourself regularly. That's what successful dieters and those who manage to maintain weight loss do. Some step on the scales once a week or to. Some find once a month is enough. 11. Read about it. Immerse yourself in fitness and you’ll be much more motivated to work out. One of the best ways is to read fitness blogs so that you can follow along with other people who have the same goals as you. Get involved in the fitness forums. Subscribe to fitness websites so that you get daily motivation sent straight to your in-box.

It's easy to lose motivation when you try losing weight. Day-after-day of following a diet or new eating pattern can be difficult or get boring after a while. Here are few simple techniques that can keep you motivated for the long haul, and allow you to have fun in the process. 1.Set a realistic goal. Saying, "I want to lose 50-pounds in the next couple of weeks" is just plan unrealistic. The weight did not go on that quickly, so it will not come off that quickly. If you set goals that you cannot possibly obtain, of course you will be discouraged. Instead focus on loosing 1-pound a week for a month. One pound is 3,500-calories. To lose 1 pound a week, you can cut 500-calories a day from your diet, burn an extra 500-calories a day through exercise, or some combination of both. 2.Find a workout buddy. It's harder to hit the snooze-button if you know there's someone waiting for you to meet them at the gym or at the start of a jogging route. When "you" aren’t motivating enough, it's time to enlist the help of others! Don't want to feel guilty, do you? • Friends and family can be excellent motivators as you continue to lose-weight. Not only can they offer you support along the way, they can also become participants alongside you. 3.Join a class. Whether or not you have a workout buddy, consider joining a class. You may pay for classes up-front, which will motivate you to attend. Some even take attendance, which may cause some healthy guilt if you don't go. The best classes can feel like having thirty buddies and a coach. 4.Get right back up when you fall. This should almost be higher-up on the page. Know that you will have setbacks. This is inevitable and happens to everyone. The only thing you can do is get back-up. If you miss a day of working out, that's better than missing two! Don't beat yourself up, just start fresh the next-day. 5.Spend time thinking positively. If your thought process solely consists of, "I'm so fat. I'll never make any progress" you risk living a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you start thinking positively, the idea of accomplishing something difficult becomes more believable because you feel better about yourself. You know you can do it. And you can 6.Pace yourself. It is usually better to start of a little easy, rather than taking on too much too soon. This is especially true if you have been relatively inactive for a while, or are older. Taking on too much too soon can hurt your body, causing injury and tanking your workout program. Only do what you can so your body can keep-up. And 7. Rewards for yourself: Reward yourself on every 3-pounds you lose for example you can buy a new dress or pair of shoes on reaching your short-term goal avoid food related rewards.
